Computer mess – and sleep apnea.

I don’t know what is going on – I just got the computer back from the repair guy and it seems like it is still broken?

I think I might pull out my old tower and be done with the drama of this one.

Today I have another sleep study scheduled. Last week, I found out that I had sleep apnea but, I did not sleep enough during the night for them to be able to fit me with a CPAP. I am excited about the chance to start getting good sleep again. Now, I feel like I spend all night dreaming and not enough time in deep sleep.

Because I have been overweight for so long I am working through a Weight Loss Surgery program. The television shows dont show half the process that is involved. There are so many appointments. So far, I think I have been to about 15 appointments. Maybe a few more than that. I started the process in June. One strange thing about the program is that the patient has to go through all of this process before the request is submitted to the insurance. It is possible to go through all of this and then be denied.

I am happy that I have learned about the sleep apnea, regardless of what happens. I have done a little Internet research and it looks like apnea is a prevalent as diabetes, more common in men and can effect any age group. I am hopeful that some of the side effects of apnea are effecting my daily life and might resolve some after I am using the cpap.

Some of the side effects are daytime drowsiness, heart burn, forgetfulness, depression and snoring. I don’t know what symptoms are simply exacerbated my the apnea or what might resolve or partially resolve. But, I am hopeful. Does anyone have experience with this?

I hope I will spend some time today cleaning my living-room. I have had so many boxes in there for weeks. It is starting to get annoying.

Ahhh, Sleep apnea. My Husbands side of the family seem to all have it. My FIL has a CPAP machine and he says it works very well for him. It takes a little bit to get used to wearing it, but you will be sleeping like a baby in no time. Good luck with that and with your weight loss goals.

Hey there- I get fitted for the CPAP monday. I am hoping, as I said to Declan that I will be able to get some good sleep – !

I went to my final appointmennt b-4 meeting with the surgen on Wends. I talked to the nut. and, I am gonna really spend some time looking at the band. I got afraid about the malnutrition part of the gastric bypass. I am 31 and have 30 more active years (fingers crossed) and I want to enjoy them! I got afraid about living long tern with the gastric.

I think the band will also allow for me to keep triyng new foods. I love learning to cook and I want to be able to try spicy and different exotic things if I get the chance.

Without going to a clinic I’m sure I’ve got sleep apnea. I snore, I have heartburn all the time, depression, drowsy during the day and forgetful. I also wake up more tired than when I went to sleep! I also have thyroid problems. I just wish I could afford to get it all taken care of. Not having insurance sucks. It would be so nice someday to wake up and not be 400 pounds, wake up refreshed, energetic and able to focus and concentrate better.

Hey Declan – I am surpised there there is not a free or income baised insurance plan that you can join? I am sure that you looked into it – but I think I remember here in Maine that young adults up to age 25 or so can be on the plan.

If anyone has infomation about insurance plans for low income adults please post links here.

Last night I could not even sleep because of the heart burn – and I am so over the dramatic dreams! When I used to only remember a few dreams it was enchanting to dream – now it feels like all night is filled with one dramatic thing after another. Im just plain tired and want to real sleep – but not ready to resort to the IV or injections like some people!!

Got diagnosed with sleep apnea in May. I used a CPAP for about 2 months. Now I have a biPAP (2 pressure levels) plus an oxygen concentrator. To my surprise, it’s been a good experience. I’m much more alert during the day and feel like getting things done. Big change. These devices are almost pleasant to use. The ritual of putting on the mask really puts me in the mood to sleep. and I don’t have to get up to pee much! Another big change. Good luck with yours.
